Hello MAST Families,                                                                                                                     2023-0514

MOTHER’S DAY:

A very happy Mother’s Day to all you moms out there.  It is impossible to put into words the love and appreciation I have for my mom, but it is my hope that your families treated each of you to a special day and will always show their love and appreciation for all that you mean to them.

MEET ENTRIES

CLIPPERS ARTIC SPLASH - The MAST meet entries for the Clippers Artic Splash have been accepted.  Here is a message from Clippers meet management with some important information you will need to know.

  1. The complete meet program will be posted on our (Clippers) website under the meet page.  Please check the website for the meet program as there will be NO heat sheet sales at the meet.
  2. Parking will be permitted at Silverlake.  It will be limited to the first lot to your right (next to the trampoline park).  There will be NO parking in the general/front lots or in the lots closest to the water park.  There will be NO swimmer drop off.  Handicap parking is available.  We must have 100% compliance with this, so please stress this with your families.  Parking will be tight (especially during the 12U sessions) and we ask that families carpool if able.
  3. There will be NO clerk of course.  You will be permitted 2 parent helpers during the 12U sessions.  These helpers must sign in at the coaches/volunteers sign-in table.  There is no need to send names pre-meet.
  4. All events on Friday will be positive check-in.  Please have your swimmers check-in immediately upon arrival.
  5. We will need help with timers in all sessions.  We will not assign these jobs, but please let your families know that the meet cannot start without help from all teams.  Volunteers should sign-in at the coaches/volunteer sign-in table.  Thank you in advance for your help.
  6. Session and Warm-Up start times are listed below.  This information is also posted on our website under the meet page.
  7. Team seating and warm-up lane assignments will be available at the meet.
  8. Silverlake’s facilities are NOT to be used by meet participants or spectators.  Locker rooms/bathrooms are available for changing, but swimmers may NOT use lockers.
  9. Coolers and chairs are not permitted in Silverlake.

MEET REGISTRATION DEADLINES

The registration for the CAC Summer Classic (June 2 – 4) has been extended to Monday, May 15 (tomorrow).  If you want to be entered in this meet please sign up now.

Other upcoming June meets and commit deadlines:

PHST Jill Griesse Memorial at Denison University (June 16 – 18) – Commit deadline is May 30

This should be a fun travel meet opportunity in a different location.  The Denison pool is a terrific indoor facility and it is less than 2 hour drive from Cincinnati.

Clippers David Webb (June 23-25) – commit deadline May 21

This meet is for those swimmers who will not be entered in the RAYS Summer Splash meet.

RAYS City of Mason Summer Splash (June 23 – 25) - Commit deadline is June 14

PRACTICE ATTENDANCE

Practice attendance has been less than ideal lately.  Perhaps this is due to all the activities that seem to get squeezed into the end of the school year.  The improvement we are seeing in those who attend every (or almost every) practice is exciting but those who are missing a large number of practices may see themselves falling behind and we don’t want this to happen.  I want to encourage everyone to attend as many practices as possible so that we can have MAST swimmers continue to see across the board improvements.

PRACTICE SCHEDULE

The full practice schedule through the end of May has been adjusted for the meets we will be attending – Please check the schedule that is posted as a separate NEWS item.

The schedule for June and July will be posted as soon as possible.
