WEEKLY UPDATE - Sunday, November 20, 2022

Sunday, November 20, 2022
Hello MAST Families,
THANKSGIVING WEEK PRACTICE SCHEDULE
MONDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY PLUS FRIDAY MAST PRACTICE – Our pool time is based on the Milford High School schedule.
We realize that students in other school districts may still be in school, but the Milford High School building will be closing at 4:00 pm so we are not able to offer MAST practice after 4:00 pm.
We are, however, able to offer an additional practice on Friday, November 25 that we had not previously scheduled.
It is hoped that everyone will take advantage of this practice.
TEAM FUNDRAISING
If you have not been able to turn in the candle fundraising sheets, please bring them to practice on Monday.
Please turn in all the orders so that the production and distribution of the candles is not delayed.
DECEMBER SWIM MEETS
WTRC Winter Invitational – Entries have been submitted.
The meet information is posted to the “Events” tab and additional information will be posted as it becomes available.
MAKOS Holiday Spirit Classic – This meet is a Prelim / Final meet at Miami University.
Please either “Commit” or “Decline” by Saturday, November 26.
If your swimmer does not wish to be entered in this, or any particular meet, it is very helpful if you select “Decline” so that when we put together the meet entry, we know that you have looked at the meet.
Sometimes swimmers tell us that they are going to the meet, but they have not selected either Commit or Decline so we are not sure how to proceed.
CAC Distance Meet – Meet information will be out sometime this week.
RAYS IMX Meet – See events page for events then ask your group lead coach if you should enter this meet.
OTHER
There are a lot of items waiting to be picked up.
Please pick up next time you are at the pool.

Have a great week – See you at the pool
Monty
Swim Video of the week – Free diving under an iceberg.
Not exactly pool racing, but an amazing story of human willpower and facing challenge.
"Through this project, I had to face the same emotions as the character (fear, anxiety, self-doubt). There were many points where I felt like giving up because the challenge felt too impossible. The water at 28’ F was too cold, I was scared of being that deep underwater, the story was too crazy, etc. Facing these emotions and separating myself from them made me realize I’m strong enough to face my invisible battles on my own." – Luke Adams
