Supplemental Update - Thursday, November 10, 2022 (RAYS meet information and more) - second version updated at 2:30 pm with new information from RAYS
-
Heat sheets and timelines for each session are now posted on the Events page. Heat sheets will not be available at the meet, so it is recommended that you print your own sheet as needed.
-
Volunteer Timers – we need two volunteer timers for each session (only one for Friday evening). If you have not helped time, please plan to help. If anyone would like to serve as a volunteer coordinator (for this meet and future meets) please contact Scott Fentress or Andy Eminger.
-
Pool configuration: The prelim sessions will be conducted in two pools, finals in one pool.
-
A “ One Sheet Summary” has also been posted on the Events page. I have attempted to include the key information on one sheet (front and back).
-
A Second Supplemental Sheet lists swimmers by session and events. If you do not see your swimmer listed on the second sheet, please contact Coach Monty as soon as possible.
-
Relays will be determined at the meet. The heat sheet will have names but that is just a part of the automatic entry process. Please have swimmers ask the coach at the session if he or she is on a relay in that session.
-
Team T-shirts:
-
Black or Friday
-
Red on Saturday (for those who do not have a red MAST shirt, wear what you have)
-
Gray on Sunday
-
Friday and Saturday timelines look good...Sunday will be very tight and an extremely fast turnaround for finals after the 12&U session concludes. Therefore, we will do FLYOVER STARTS for all events except the 25's. Our goal will be to run a little faster than the timeline, especially on Sunday. Please have your kids ready for this.
Here are some other items you need to know and can share with your families.
- all timers need to check in at our volunteer check in table when they arrive
- Saturday finals warm ups will begin at 4 pm or at the conclusion of the 12&U prelims (whichever comes first)
- Sunday finals will begin at the conclusion of the 12&U prelim session in the flag end pool with kids swimming the 1650. They will be given approximately 20 minutes to warm up before we start that event. The rest of the kids can begin warming up in the scoreboard end once prelims conclude.
- There are some events that will get moved from one pool to the other in order to get the sessions completed in a more timely manner, so please pay attention to the timelines. We will remind everyone of that each day.
- Deck entries will only be taken at the meet and we will only fill empty lanes.
- There will be at least 2-3 warm up/swim down lanes during prelims and the entire scoreboard end will be open during finals.
- There is a concession stand available.
- Per SafeSport guidelines - locker rooms/restrooms for anyone 18 and older will be in the adjacent building. The locker rooms/restrooms in the main building will be for our 17 and under athletes. There are 2 family restrooms in the main building that anyone may access.
- We will permit 2 parent helpers (if needed) to assist with your 10&U swimmers. These parents will need to check in and get a volunteer badge or they will be asked to leave the deck.
- Prior to the start of finals on Saturday, we will swim an exhibition 50 with our Special Olympics group.
It is vital that your timers show up on time so we can start the meet on time each day. Timers can request a pool but we can't guarantee which pool they will end up in. This is the same situation for our own timers as well.
I'll take scratches in the 1650 right up until the day of the event. Other than that, no need to send more scratches as nothing will be reseeded besides the 1650. If there are no more scratches in the 1650, we will combine the last heat of boys and girls and put them into the SCOREBOARD END pool.
We hope that this is a great experience for your families and we look forward to hosting you.
