Hello MAST Families,
David Webb – Clippers meet
It was a late decision not to send an entry to the Flag City meet because only nine MAST swimmers signed up. Lacking information to the contrary, it is concluded that families are reluctant to travel to swim meets. As a result, we decided to offer the local alternative to attend the David Webb meet hosted by Clippers.
Our entry to a Clippers meet this past winter season we not accepted because we were told the meet had already filled. So in the attempt not to have our entry rejected we are sending our entry at the very first opportunity. Clippers begin accepting entries tomorrow, May 16 (five weeks before a meet is very early for entries, but that is what they offer). Our entry will be sent the minute they begin accepting entries.
If for some reason our Webb entry is not accepted, we will look to offer the opportunity for those swimmers who have National BB times to enter the Marlins meet on the same weekend as the Webb meet or travel to the Jill Griesse meet at Denison University the weekend before Webb. We expect to know our status with the Webb meet by Tuesday, May 17.
- MAST Practice Schedule updates – starting with Monday, May 16, 2022
- The updated practice schedules for the entire month of May and the first two weeks of June are at the end of this message.
- Some Saturday practices have been added. Attendance was very light this past Saturday, if we do not have adequate attendance, these practices will be eliminated.
- SOSL Swim Meets
- All SOSL meets are recommended for all Swimmers in Red 1, Red 2, Red 3 and Black 1
- Home SOSL meets also recommended for Black 2 and Black 3
- Meet commitment deadlines have not been set yet, but they are likely to be one week before each meet.
- Milford High School pool is closing June 20 through July 17 for maintenance
- * Alternative practice sites for those four weeks will be finalized soon.
