SWIM MEET - Saturday, January 16, 2021

Monty Hopkins

Hello MAST Families,

The information for the meet Saturday is now posted in the Events tab.  You will find an estimated Time Line, Warm-up Schedule, Psych Sheet and MAST Entry list.

Here is some additional important information:

1) We still need some volunteers to help with the meet.  Please sign up today.

2) Meet Marshal's will help check swimmers and workers by performing the temperature check and asking the screening questions prior to entering the pool.  Plan to arrive early as the process of checking and recording temperatures does take time.  If anyone has a temperature above 100.0 or is exhimiting standard Covid-19 symptoms they will not be permitted to enter the facility and they will be asked to return home.

3) Swimmers must place their equipment on the designated spots in the seating area.   Same household children can share the same location.

4) Parents - If you swimmer needs help getting to their event, please use a Sharpie-style marker to mark the swimmers arm before coming to the pool with the following information: Event #, Distance, Stroke, Heat # & Lane #:

Example -

Event 201 50 Free Heat 1 Lane 3
Event 203 25 Breast Heat 2 Lane 1
Event 207 25 Fly Heat 1 Lane 6

5) Swimmers may depart the venue after their final event.  It is recommended that parents check the estimated timeline and plan to be in the parking lot 15 minutes before that last event.  If we can conduct the meet faster than the timeline we will do it.

6) The meet sessions should be fairly quick. Swimmers may only bring water into the natatorium.  Eating is not permitted inside the natatorium.

7) Competitors must wear their swimming suit to the pool.  Locker rooms will not be available for dressing.  Deck changes are not permitted in the Milford High School Natatorium nor are they permitted by Ohio LSC rules.

8) Restroom use will be restricted to three swimmers at a time.  It is highly recommended that swimmers plan ahead so that they do not need to use the restrooms at the pool.

9) How swimmers move on deck (from seating area to event staging to racing and back to seating area):

  • When the event is called: swimmers will line up, maintaining six feet of separation and wearing their facemask, at the shallow end of the pool on the scoreboard side.
  • Next they will advance, with their heat, to the section on the pool deck designated for the next heat.
  • When they are the next heat to swim, and waiting for the heat in the water to finish, they will line up behind the starting blocks against the wall (behind the white line on the pool deck).
  • When the offical calls them to the starting block, they will remove their mask and either place it in a small plastic bag, or hang it on the hook behind their lane.  (We recommend each swimmer bring their own bag, but the meet host will also supply bags.)
  • At the end of their race swimmers will exit the pool, immediately put their facemask on, and return to the seating area.
  • Swimmers must remain in their seating areas (marked by stickers on the bleachers) until their next race is called.
  • Swimmers using the restrooms will

We are pleased to have the opportunity to host a meet at Milford High School Natatorium and equally pleased to have swimmers from Oak Hills Youth Athletics and Mariemont Aquatic Club attending the meet.  This meet is a USAS sanctioned meet so times achieved will be entered in the SWIMS database.

See you at the pool,

Monty
