MAST Swim Practice Spectators - update

Monty Hopkins

Hello MAST Families,

I have been asked if the policy regarding parents observing swim practice has changed given the increased Covid-19 concerns.  As everyone knows by now, the state-wide, CDC and local restrictions seem to adjust on almost a daily basis.

Milford High School will permit MAST parents to watch swim practice as long as parents comply with all prescribed precautions.

The Milford Athletic Department and school district put the "no spectator policy" in place so coaches don't have to police the Covid guidelines for parents.  According to Athletic Director Aaron Zupka "If MAST wants to allow parents at swim practice, MHS will leave that up to MAST."

The Covid-19 guidelines for spectators are: (a) 15% maximum capacity number (no more than 60 people in the seating area), (b) spectators must wear masks, and (c) spectators physically distance themselves by a minimum of 6 feet separation. Remember, swimmers in the seating area are included in that maximum capacity number.

If MAST complies with these guidelines, the MHS Administration will allow parents into the natatorium to observe their own children at swim practice.

See you at the pool,

Monty
